Occassionaly postings from a subscriber are refused by the server. This is usually due to one of two causes:
- You posted the message from an address that is different from your original subscription address (such as a new userName, forwarding address, or alias)
- You used a filtered keyword in your message (see below)
In order to prevent unwanted mailings to the whole group, messages containing certain keywords are blocked. For example, the server does not allow messages that begin with the words "unsubscribe " or " remove " to be posted since these messages appear to be requests for removal rather than postings for discussion. Filtering thus prevents abuse of the list with " please remove me immediately! " messages from being posted to thousands of subscribers.
The solution to this problem is to delete any text that you do not want or need from the reply message, especially any of the headers or footers that get propogated into the reply. By removing any of these filtered words, the message will go through.
Examples of filtered keywords include:
please
unsub, unsubscribe
remove, delete
help
vacation
